So here's the skinny; it's a hella wicked track and vid. the packaging of the video is so DOPE. the delivery summons wicked amounts of graphics and cinematography which totally left me unconvincingly wide-eyed! I love the stop motion-like technique they used with the paper cut outs (although I'm sure they used much more sophisticated methods.) but it makes a great tribute to Converse and the Chuckies. The whole song is like a weird-ass street jam. it's buzzy, it totally fits in this era that retro-fetishizes rock is. the musical production expands on a sludgy aesthetic with a nice mix of doom metal, thrashy punk, indie rock. And it just fits in any genre it has an eccentric genius poised to push its boundaries to new creative extremes. it's the attitude and defiant urban undertow that draw you in. I love P's falsetto, and the glorious Strokes! Julian is extra smooth and he is one kick ass songwriter.. he makes great music, delicately stringing up the right words and adding a dash of fantastic melody you wont forget..that's why i fucking love this guy. Mr. Casablancas encourage his listeners to ‘Jump da f*** up’ And I love Santi! she's so damn gully :-) Her music is like dumping your cool, older brothers record collection on the floor and making a mixtape out of what fell out - some new-wave, reggae, electro, punk, ska and pop! Santi is just her own damn movement. well, i won't overanalyze the video until my face turnes blue like a smurf!!
