   These are what is called, Mammatus clouds.

   Mammatus (also known as mammatocumulus, meaning “bumpy clouds”) is a meteorological term applied to a cellular pattern of pouches hanging underneath the base of a cloud. The name “mammatus” is derived from the Latin mamma (udder), due to the clouds’ characteristic shape.

    This night was crazy beautiful!! I was in soho and I saw the sky first hand. Everyone was looking at the sky and taking pictures (including me :0)). It was the most amazingly beautiful thing I ever saw in my 20 years of living.

    I WAS AT SOUTH STREET SEAPORT THAT NIGHT AT THE KID CUDI CONCERT AND EVERYONE WAS LIKE WTH WE THOUGHT IT WAS SOME APOCALYPTO TYPE CRAP LOL THEY WERE ABOUT TO HOLD OFF THE CONCERT…BUT IT WAS REALLY PRETTY
