true. I said Micael Jackson’s death made a thump around the world. That’s a bad loss right there
I agree, P. I can see the emotion on Shae’s face, too. We’re still grieving and being out here in LA right now makes it really real. Just last week he was rehearsing within walking distance from where I live in downtown at the Staples Center. Not only did he rock the planet for decades (I mean, my MOM loved him and made sure my first album to own was Thriller) but his HEART and his CHARITABLE causes…He gave of ALL of himself through performances ofcourse, but all walks of his life! He was known to earn his money blasting off of stages in rockets (unmatched performances) but he’s one to GIVE ALL PROCEEDS to burn centers and have beds for children with leukemia built into his home! He pushed the envelope and paved the way for greatness and planetary change. His energy is super warm and he truly understood famliness. I hear his influence across the board- ie. our dance moves, style of dress..I think he would’ve sounded GREAT on “Like I Love You” but JT is awesome too. I have MJ moments I’d love to share but I’d write way too much and I’d rather speak it to those who’d appreciate it, as Michael was such a private person and I respect that. You were blessed to have shared happiness with him, and witnessed the child-like laughter. Kudos to you for making that happen.
Thanks for acknowledging this across the globe Pharrell and Shae. I know you had knots in your throat while performing that day. The energy across the room at the BET Awards will never be felt again..especially after Janet spoke. Silence and tears. Continue to do good things through music as our King of Pop forever lives in our hearts. Carry the torch of love and stay close to animals and children as he did: a way to stay close to God.
Feeling your pain,

very true P!
MJ’s music was a worldwide phenomenon for a long time!
he also embraced the MTV video generation making epics out of his clips, I remember as a kid waiting up at night for the premier of his songs with my sisters and brother…he was the only artist to have a premier to his vids here in oz.
