Branding 101

Not that we like one over the other but it’s interesting to see how the corporate logos of the 2 companies after the jump have evolved since their creation.

Pepsi-2

The brands that need to re-brand/re-invent the most are:
-General Motors (LOL! Had to go there)
-Brands that are behind the curve and losing behind competition as the influencers embrace new trends
    -Brands competiting with a monopoly
-Brands that piggy-back off of another’s success through mere imitation (notice Coca-Cola is older than Pepsi) Anything that initially lacked it’s own creativity will toil and strive to be it’s own entity.
-Coca-Cola is such a major brand that it’s LOGO doesn’t affect it’s popularity or sales.
-Coke is trusted and reliable – it’s consumers know what their gonna get.

Dumbing myself down for no one and loving what I do. Keep up the ad posts! Seriously, it helps me to think like this on my campaigns! <3

damn…the graphic designers over in coca cola are probably ready to throw themselves out a window.

    team coke!!

Conversely, it’s interesting how Pepsi has stayed in the game (as #2) for so long…that’s pretty remarkable. I like the “1950″ and “1973″ logos best.

Although this was amusing to me at first, I began to realize that the image doesn’t show all of the great Coca Cola’s Logo’s for the past decades. This image is poking at fun at Pepsi’s long competition with Coke. Too bad it isn’t true, it would have been really if it was.

coke just takes a different marketing strategy.
pepsi tries to show they are contemporary by renewing the logo, coke brings a lot of flavours, like cherry, vanilla, lemon. and now they even have zero, which is exactly the same as the light/diet coke, but with a different label and marketing aimed towards men instead of women
